Ring-tailed lemurs are the most recognised lemur in Madagascar, undoubtedly their zany black and white tails make them hard to miss especially when the troupe are on the march. Tails are used for social activities such as stink fights, intimidation, social bonding and balance but they are not prehensile (meaning they are not able to grip or hold with their tail)
